This cooling mat arrived promptly thanks to Prime. It's simply packaged in a cardboard box, with no instructions (at least in the one I recieved). However, it isn't rocket science to use: place on the floor, and get your dog to lie on it. The surface of the mat feels cool to the touch, and my dog took to it immediately, lying out on it in seconds and seeming to appreciate the heat conducting properties of the gel inside.He was a little tempted to scratch and bit at it, although this is more likely to be an issue with him than the product itself - although I would recommend supervising your dog when using the mat (at least in the early stages). Whilst the gel is noted by the manufacturer as being non-toxic, I'd prefer my dog not to eat it, and I'm sure you would, too! Plus it isn't clear how much mess it may make if it does leak, so supervision is probably a good idea.The fabric itself seems durable, similar to a rubberised inflatable bed, although the actual surface is material, so it shouldn't be uncomfortable for the dog. Those same properties should also make it easy to wipe clean.I haven't experimented with putting it in the fridge as a number of other people have, but it folds down easily should you wish to do so. Overall, I'm happy with my purchase, and it's been a godsend over the hot days we've had here in Britain.
